Logan Central Respite Centre

Logan Central Respite Centre provides social support and flexible respite for people who are experiencing challenges in day to day living in the community.

This gives clients the opportunity to socialise and participate in activities in a caring environment whilst at the Centre. During this time carers are able to have some respite from their caring role.

Transport is provided to and from the Centre by the Respite Centre Bus which is equipped with a wheelchair hoist. If clients live outside the Logan Central pick up area they can access the services with their own or alternative transport.

Programs and activities are designed whenever possible, to meet individual clients’ expressed wishes and identified needs.

Morning tea and a hot lunch are  provided at the Centre. Each day a 3 course meal is supplied in the Centre which includes soup, main meal and dessert. The main meal may be a BBQ, Webber Roast, or meals that meet dietary needs such as diabetic, gluten free, low fat and cultural requirements. When on outings for example the beach, clients enjoy fresh local fish and chips and hamburgers.

Special dietary needs are observed. A Fee is charged, to assist with covering costs of main meal (lunch), transport and other activities, including outings. Fee relief in cases of need can be discussed in confidence with the Coordinator.

A quiet area with a bed and reclining chairs is available for clients to rest if they wish.
